A pod of bottlenose dolphins swimming the Shrewsbury River will be under increased protection as the National Marine Fisheries Service steps up patrols and monitors a website created to field harassment reports. Along with the New Jersey Divi sion of Fish and Wildlife and the Marine Mammal Stranding Center, federal authorities said they will rely on patrols to keep the mammals safe, rather than try to move the estimated 12 to 15 dolphins and calves.
